ASK HOWARD
HOWARD ELSTON, the man who knows everything, fields the questions that plague you throughout your day: Today, Stephanie of Worcester, asks:
Q: DO THE LONDON OLYMPICS SYMBOLISE THE WORLD’S LOVE AND RESPECT FOR AMATEUR SPORT AND THE ENDURINGLY PURE ENJOYMENT OF PHYSICAL ACTIVITY?
A: No, it doesn’t

“No, it doesn’t”
How ridiculously negative. The whole point of the Olympics is that they symbolise the world’s love and respect for amateur sport and the enduringly pure enjoyment of physical activity. I just wish they’d also include bingo and reclaim-the-streets in their portfolio of recognised sports.
